After mustering up enough confidence, she started to sing.

Her first choice of song was “The Trolley Song” by Judy Garland, which was featured in the 1944 movie Meet Me in St. Louis. Everyone was seemingly enjoying her little show, including the audience who was all smiles while she is singing.

However one of the judges, Simon Cowell, had to stop her mid-performance, saying that he loves her performance but doesn’t like the song.

Judge Simon even quipped that the song reminds him of Judge David if he ever released a single, to which the crowd roared with laughter.

If this happened to other people, they would have probably cried and backed out or felt dejected and embarrassed in front of the hundreds of people in attendance.

It really a nerve-racking situation, but Sou maintained her composure.

She is the epitome of grace under pressure. She stands there calm and collected, although deep inside she probably wants to go home and hide in her room.

She waited patiently and paid attention to Simon’s instructions.

Simon Cowell made her sing “Never Enough” from the 2017 hit movie The Greatest Showman instead.

As he explained, Simon thought the song would bring out the best of Sou’s voice—and the girl did not disappoint. She definitely owned the song as if it was her own!

After taking a deep breath and a last glance at her parents for moral support, she started round two.

The girl has a thick natural vibrato lacing her voice. The way she sings is full of emotions, enunciating every word as if she understood the meaning of it. Sou belted out the song as easily as breathing. She also hit the high notes effortlessly, which earned her a standing ovation from the panel of judges and the audience.

Inside her little body lies an immense talent that helped her secure three yeses from the judges.

After her amazing performance, Judge David exclaimed that “Never Enough” is a mountain of a song, yet she conquered it.

For Sou, her BGT experience was an overwhelming one. Sou even opened the second Semi-Finals where she performed “Neverland” by Zendaya from the musical Neverland, which Judge Amanda described as a gorgeous performance.

Sweet little Sou is an aspiring singer who wants to become a professional musical theater actress someday!

Born as Souparnika Nair, this girl came all the way from Kerala, India.

Her parents, Binu and Renjitha Nair, had migrated to the United Kingdom in 2014 when she was hardly five years old. Even then, her parents already saw potential in their daughter and encouraged her to pursue her passion for music.

Becoming a musical theater performer someday shouldn’t be too far off if she continues to train and hones her singing skills.

She already has a crystal clear voice!
