Years ago, little girls at the age of 12 were busy playing with dolls, friends, and pets. Well, a lot has changed. Today, children are far more advanced and for that reason, they’re involved in things that are typically for older kids.

In one way, that’s kind of sad. But in another way, it’s exciting. Especially when it comes to young children showcasing their skills.

Singing competitions

Thanks to singing shows, we get to see some of the younger generation doing amazing things. For a 12-year-old girl, she got her chance to do just that. But what’s most exciting is she showed the world what she could do on the world’s largest stage … American’s Got Talent.

Cute as a bug

Annie Jones is an adorable 12-year-old who last year blew the judges and audience away with her talent. Dressed in a yellow jumpsuit and her hair in side buns, she walked onto the stage. At first, she seems a little on the shy side, and who can blame her since she’s standing in front of a packed house.

Her choice of music

For Annie, she wanted to sing a song that was fun but also one that let her show what she was capable of doing. So, she selected “Dance Monkey” by Tones and I. Initially, the judges weren’t sure what they were about to witness.

A little banter

Of course, the judges had a brief conversation with her. Then, Simon Cowell asked if she was Australian to which she replied, “Yes, I am.” That brought a big smile to his face but what was about to take place next would make him smile even bigger.

The music starts to play

With the conversation over and her family cheering her on while standing off stage, you hear the music as it begins to play. Keeping her eyes closed and moving her hand in time to the music, she begins to sing. That’s when you realize she has the voice of an angel.

Things go from good to great

Right before the beat of the song increases, the crowd erupts in applause. But if they thought what they heard was her best, they were in for a huge surprise. Annie then begins to do a cute little dance.

She’s amazing

Keeping up with the tempo, she belts out the words to the song. At this time, you can see a little bit of attitude come out, which is perfect for the performance. Even her voice changes … it’s now more mature.

Clapping along

Quickly, the judges begin clapping to the song, which prompts the audience to join in. Listening to this young girl sing, it’s hard to believe she’s only 12. She might look it but her voice says something completely different.

The full package

That’s what Annie has … the full package. Not only does she have a fantastic voice but she’s also a natural-born performer. With the combination of her dance moves and voice, there’s no question this girl has a successful career ahead of her.

The judges agree

Toward the end of the performance, Annie hits a high octave that makes her talent even more impressive. When finished, she receives a much-deserved standing ovation. Along with the audience, the judges stand for her, including Simon Cowell who is smiling bigger than ever at this point.
