A delayed flight can be quite the nuisance. Even if the reasons are perfectly acceptable (air traffic control, bad weather, mechanical issues), waiting in a crowded airport for hours is definitely frustrating.
It’s a true test of patience especially when you’re thousands of miles from home and all other conveniences seem to be out of reach.
No matter how badly you want to reach your destination, there are hiccups along the way that you’ll just have to survive first.
That’s why we’ve got to hand it to individuals who try to make the waiting easier for everyone: tireless crew members, good-natured and kind hearted passengers, and extremely talented folks who willingly treat everyone to delightful surprise performances.
This is why you’ve got to keep your eyes and ears open wherever in the world you may be. You never know who you’ll encounter along the way.
Fortunately for these passengers, The Gentlemen Trio were around to ease the burden of a delayed flight.
With the help of the airport crew, the musicians were able to pull off an incredible surprise.
Their short introduction even included an apology for the delay.
When one of the members started playing the ukulele, the trio began humming in harmony, causing some of the waiting passengers to look up and take notice. You can even catch some of them breaking out into pleased smiles.
“We are sorry the weather sucks. We’re sorry for the delay but we hope this cheers you up just a little bit.”
While some of the passengers were clearly exhausted and barely in the mood for anything, they were able to relax in their seats as they listened to the trio’s soothing rendition of “Over the Rainbow.”
Positioned right across a small shop, seated on cushioned, metal chairs, The Gentlemen Trio sang calmly and cheerfully.
Their beautiful voices filled the room, ringing out amidst the noise of the hustle and bustle.
“Someday I’ll wish upon a star
Wake up where the clouds are far behind me
Where trouble melts like lemon drops
High above the chimney top
That’s where you’ll find me…”
Some passengers couldn’t resist getting up and recording the surprise number with their mobile phones.
They were also pleasantly surprised when they began singing “I’m Yours” by Jason Mraz, too.
The passengers weren’t even expecting a surprise song number, much less a medley!
How three people’s voices could fill a room like that is nothing short of amazing.
The Gentleman Trio didn’t even look like they were exerting much effort in reaching the high notes. Each line was sung flawlessly, voices in sync. Passengers young and old alike definitely enjoyed the unexpected presentation.
The handsome young singers wrapped up their medley beautifully, prompting smiles and applause all around as soon as they hit the last note.
You can’t say it didn’t ease the frustrations brought about by a delayed flight. So the next time you find yourself waiting in an airport with nothing to do, cheer up! A surprise might just be waiting around the corner.
