Despite only being nine years old, a third-grade student named DCorey Johnson is already on his way to stardom.

DCorey attends Bates Elementary in Louisville, Kentucky, but while he works hard at school, his dreams lie outside the wold of education.

Even at his young age, DCorey has one of the best singing voices that we’ve ever heard.

The little boy’s talents were first discovered when he was asked by the Principal to perform a rendition of the National Anthem during the school’s morning announcement.

DCorey showed absolutely zero nerves as he took to the microphone and put his absolute all into the song. When he had finished, the whole school was speechless- and some of the teachers had been moved to tears.

Suddenly, DCorey found his music career quickly taking off.

“I’ve never got to sing the national anthem before, but now they want me to sing it at the baseball, and the football, and the school… And I’m like oh, my Jesus!” he excitedly told WHAS11.

Though nine years old might seem like a young age to have such a talent, DCorey’s mom says that he’s been singing practically from the age that he learned how to talk.

“DCorey started singing at St Stephen’s baptist church,” DCorey’s mom Nikia Johnson said. “He was a little bitty thing, and he would hum along to the song and raise his hand and praise the lord.”

Nikita ended up putting DCorey in the choir when he was just four years old. His family already knew that he was gifted, and now it was time for the world to find out!
