Her voice seems from another time – she doesn’t just sing the song, but tells the story.

She is one of those singers that turn heads and jolt people awake when her voice fills the air. There is just no way that you’ve heard an eleven year old girl sing like this. Her rendition of “Can’t help falling in love with you” alone has racked up over 2.7 million views and you’d better believe she’s on to bigger and better moments.

She performs barefoot. This was when she met a girl without shoes as she was traveling. Angie wrote a book about her experience when she was six years old making her the youngest published author in Norway. She is truly special.

This 1961 Elvis classic has been remade and sung by a multitude of artists.

They’ve all put their own spin on it but Angelina’s is a version for the senses. It’s just her and an acoustic guitar. No fancy instruments, no computers, and no studio which means this is just raw talent.

Angelina sits with a microphone in her hand, her long dark hair falling freely down her shoulders. She looks so at home in her blue sweater. In fact, she probably was at home for this one. She starts singing,

“Wise men say only fools rush in
But I can’t help falling in love with you”

That’s not a voice from a child. It’s clear now that her vocal maturity is way advanced for her age. There is depth to it and her control seems to emphasize each note in an enchanting lull. And she’s just begun.

One of her many admirers wrote,

“Her voice seems like it’s coming from another time… I feel I’m traveling back into the past. What a mesmerizing voice.”

That’s exactly what it’s like hearing Jordan’s voice. Even Elvis Presley, wherever he is, would be smiling with this rendition.

Ed Sheeran, Twenty One Pilots, U2, UB40… Just some of the names and bands that have covered this song.

Now they’re all great covers surely, but take into consideration that those guys are professional musicians and Angelina is, what, 14 years old to date. If you want a memorable cover then surely this young lady’s version is on your playlist.

“Like a river flows surely to the sea
Darling so it goes
Some things are meant to be”

Indeed and Angelina was meant to sing, and sing this song.

The melody was based on a popular French love song from 1784 called “Plaisir d’amour“. The song topped the British charts in 1962, becoming one of Presley’s most famous songs. This sweet ballad is a far cry from the usual hip shaking, rock and roll style of the flamboyant Elvis.

Angelina doesn’t rely on power. Nor does she need to raise her voice. Her style takes you back to a time of simplicity when there was no internet but men and women were fashionably conscious. Remember Doris Day? How about Audrey Hepburn?

Angelina is the future without forgetting the golden days of the past. She is one to follow and watch out for. Add her to your playlists because there will be no regrets there. This is the “art” in music.
