I think he spoke it very clearly. <3

A baby’s firsts are always remembered and recorded.

The first smile, the first step, the laugh, rolling over, crawling… Oftentimes these milestones are captured by photo or video and written in the baby’s book. Any parent would be proud after all.

A touch or a smile is enough to melt any mom’s or dad’s hearts.

But perhaps the most awaited and anticipated moment of all is a baby’s first word. And we don’t mean the cooing and babbling but an actual, coherent word. It is an indescribable feeling of joy and it has both parents double checking their hearing and looking at each other with surprised expressions.

Imagine the surprise of these parents when they heard this little guy say something.

He is only two months old too. Now that really is surprising. With a camera ready, mom tries to coax her adorable son,

“Come on, you can say it. I know you want to talk.”

The precious prince must be camera shy because instead of talking, he gives a handsome smile!

He will be breaking hearts someday.

Mom won’t give up. She goes on to assure him,

“You can talk to me!”

The little guy with a twinkle in his eye takes a breath and says…

“Mom!”

Sure sounds like it! Even mom and dad are convinced.

Though most experts say “da-da” is easier than “mama”, this handsome guy proves he’s not of the common bunch! Mom wins this time.

Vocalizing and verbal experimentation take a few months before babies string together coherent words.

Mom is not satisfied. She needs to be sure so she pushes a bit more. “Come on, you can talk to me.”

And wouldn’t you know it? The little darling goes, “Mom!” once again! It is so loud and clear and the chances of a two month old repeating the same word again is close to nothing. Looks like this baby boy has his mom’s heart strings held tight.

It is the cutest most adorable thing to hear.

His mom wants more and she talks to him and tells him to talk but the little guy responds with the typical sounds of babies his age. He coos and gurgles and they sound just as sweet!

Even though experts point out that most of these sounds are vowels and consonants randomly strung together and that “coherent” sounding words don’t actually have any meaning, parents probably don’t care. To them, their little one is trying to communicate and a clear word is a clear word for them.

Babies are already listening to sounds from birth and they try to sort out their meanings.

Mom is right to talk to her son. A baby listens and responds when spoken to so experts say to talk to them a lot! Talk to them about your day, the colors you see, and the sounds you hear. Point them out too so as to help them with word association.

He’s listening and definitely encouraged to try and talk again

A lot of repetition and singing, a lot of eye contact and smiling are keys to get your little one excited to talk. So make sure those cameras are ready. You never know when you’ll hear, “Mom!”
