It’s been said a lot of times, but music does make the world go ’round.

The joy of making music is a precious part of daily living for plenty of people, but especially for talented musicians. When it comes to bassists, their entire goal is to make the room shake and get people moving. One perfect example is Wojtek Pilichowski, a bass guitarist, composer, and producer from Poland.

Pilichowski began his musical journey when he was only 14 years old. His career and fame took off in 1994, and he has recorded 14 solo albums since then. This extremely talented bass player has graced the stage at the most important festivals worldwide, including Bass Player Live and Euro Bass Day in Italy. He took home many awards and is the author of two textbooks and a DVD tutorial about playing bass guitar.

This video is one of his many performances at the NAMM show, and it gives off the same vibe as a simple, joyful jam session with friends. He sits on a chair with his amp him and is ready to roll his sound. In less than two minutes, Pilichowski manages to impress the crowd and leave them speechless.

We don’t even want to imagine the sheet music for this piece!

Pilichowski can produce straight-up funk with his bass guitar and he plays extremely fast.

It’s hard to even track the movements of his fingers and the whole performance makes us think that the sheet music is probably so complicated, that it would look like a splash of black ink to most of us. Some people even commented that he plays as if he had 20 fingers, which is exactly how this epic performance makes you feel. Not many musicians can produce such a fast song and to make it sound awesome at the same time. It’s relatively common to see guitarists playing fast, but it’s not so common among bass players.

The audience reaction says it all!

The most entertaining part of any performance is usually the audience reacting to it.

Pilichowski is in his world when he plays, and the way his whole body follows the music is incredible. This guy has an amazing audience around him and they went from enjoying the sound to pure awe, as the performance progresses. Their facial expressions say it all—it’s the same way we felt when we heard this! Their faces are full of amusement and pure joy combined with disbelief and admiration all at once. Some younger boys in the audience were so impressed. It looked like they were going to go straight home and practice! It is what great musicians always aspire to do: to teach and to motivate.

As it turns out, Pilichowski leads two different musical projects: Pilichowski Band and Pilichowski Trio.
