There are a few things that we cannot celebrate Christmas properly without. Picture in your mind the things that if we didn’t have, Christmas just wouldn’t be the same. Here are some of them. Not ALL, but some…

Christmas trees

Ah, the ol’ tannenbaum. No Christmas living room would be complete without this pivotal piece of decor. The decorations, the lights. It provides the essential location for the presents to reside. Aside from the danger of placing a highly flammable item surrounded by loose electrical wires, it just makes you feel cozy.

Overeating

Is it even Christmas if you don’t feel like you’re about to explode after eating five pounds of roast ham? Don’t forget the potatoes, and the salad! Oh, give me some of that pie! You know what, I’ll take another pound of ham, why not, it’s Christmas!

The song “Silent Night”

There are many Christmas songs. Like, a LOT. None however are as ubiquitous as the song “Silent Night”. It was written in 1818. That’s long before “Blue Christmas”, and loooooooong before “All I Want For Christmas is You”. That means that Ebenezer Scrooge could sing this song with the Ghost of Christmas Past, Present AND Future.

Well here’s a recent rendition that would make the Ghost of Christmas Present proud!

The Libera boys choir singing “Silent Night” is a treat to behold.

This troupe of talented young vocalists provide us with a spectacular version of the classic Christmas song. They even all have a fetching uniform of white hoodies. Now that’s how to bring a modern look to a choir group! Who needs robes when you can all don hoodies?

These boys are seriously talented.

They harmonize perfectly, and all sing so cohesively as a group. Let’s just say that if I was in this group, you would be able to hear me apart from the rest due to the horrible, out of key screech that is my singing voice. For these boys however, they all coalesce so wonderfully into a balanced group of in-key singers.

Then there are the solos!

Two boys, Tom Cully and Ed Day sing solo pieces and get their time in the spotlight. They certainly have the singing chops to do so. I’m not going to say that I’m jealous of these singing skills. But I will imply that I am…

These two may have a very bright future ahead of them indeed! Not that the other kids don’t have the same level of talent, but these two shine bright in the spotlight!

Great job to Tom and Ed and the rest of the boys choir This video is a real treat to watch, and it was rather well edited together. With a quaint setting and a really warm Christmas charm, it’s one to put on while you decorate that tree…

Or eat that sixth pound of ham…
