Those genuine lyrics combined with Adams’ charming vocal performance make it easy to understand why the single reached number one on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and was certified Gold in Canada.

Almost two decades ago, the Manzano brothers, the artists behind Boyce Avenue, came up with an amazing idea to use their musical talents and form a band.

In 2004, Alejandro Luiz, Daniel Enrique and Fabian Rafael began posting covers of some popular songs on YouTube. They caught the attention with renditions of “LoveStoned” by Justin Timberlake, Rihanna’s “Umbrella” and Coldplay’s “Viva la Vida.”

They proceeded to write their own songs, which paid off in 2008 when their debut album All You’re Meant To Be came out.

They were signed to Universal Republic Records until 2011 when they started the independent record label called 3 Peace Records. To date, Boyce Avenue’s official YouTube channel has 14.1M subscribers.

Yes, you got that right—the female artist featured in the video is the American singer-songwriter and actress Megan Nicole Green.

Her beginnings in the world of entertainment are also tied to YouTube, where she began posting in 2009. It was her cover of “Use Somebody” by Kings of Leon. Today, Megan’s 4.2 million subscribers on YouTube can enjoy her versions of songs by Taylor Swift, Bruno Mars, Katy Perry, Demi Lovato, Miley Cyrus, Selen Gomez and many more.

It’s funny how she’s got almost the same number of followers on Instagram as the Boyce Avenue—namely 468,000 of them.

Nicole’s first original song came out in 2011, and she was signed with Bad Boy Records in 2012. She and actor Cooper Green tied the knot in the summer of 2017.

Without a doubt, Boyce Avenue and Megan clicked while working together, and managed to create an astounding cover of a classic song.
