Bucket drumming is an interesting concept.

It’s a great way of performing drums on the street without spending too much money. Still, they also have their own unique sound compared to traditional drum kits.

And bucket drumming isn’t limited just to buckets, either.

They also use various household materials like frying pans, casserole pans, and anything that could give off special sounds. There are street drummers who show off their drumming skills using this experimental drum set, which is always great at rousing people’s interest and entertaining them.

Kevin DePree is the street bucket drummer in question.

One day, he was playing his drums at Grand Haven, Michigan. At some point during his performance, he stood up to invite someone from the crowd to join him on the set. Surprisingly, three young boys bravely stepped up in front of him wanting to play the peculiar drums.

At first, it seemed like the kids could barely hold their drumsticks.

The kids were shown three large orange plastic buckets, one each.

They took their seats, grabbed their drumsticks, and got ready to rock. When everyone was in place, DePree asked them to introduce themselves. The kid on the left was Dominic, the one in the center was Logan, and the last one was Charlie.

DePree tried to engage them in a simple exercise where he showed them a simple beat and let the kids imitate it on their drums.

As they tried to copy DePree’s beat, they were barely coordinating with each other while keeping up with the beat. Everything was just messy.

DePree tried something else, and even he was shocked by the results.

It seemed that it was not working out well for all of them, so DePree tried something new to revive the show.

He showed them a sick drumbeat and then asked the kids to perform their beat as a response to his. Subsequently, the kids surprised DePree and the crowd as they unexpectedly stepped up their game on the drums!

No one would expect the kids to hit their drums with a fully synchronized rhythm and organized drum patterns—but they did!

They were even tossing and exchanging sticks mid-air like it was nothing.

The rattles and their drum rolls were impressively clean and they even outshone DePree and his improvised beats. The young drummers certainly did a number on everyone that was watching that day. Even though they were pretending to be total amateurs, they were actually pro drummers that had the crowd in awe. Everyone was speechless!

DePree encouraged the people to clap for their spectacular performance.

Since DePree uploaded the video to YouTube, the performance has earned more than 5.6 million views.

The comment section was filled with comments saying that the performance was staged. As it turns out, DePree did organize the performance himself as a showcase to these kids’ talents. Even so, their plans thrilled the crowd that day and gave these three kids a great chance to show off their skills to the world! Though the coast guard is known for their incredible core drummers, everyone in this video definitely showed them up.
