If you were to read a headline about a group of men ambushing women around their college campus, chances are you’d probably be angry.

After all, none of us really take well to strangers jumping out of nowhere and shouting at us.

Somehow, these guys are the exception to the rule.

Vocal Point is an all-male acappella group from Brigham Young University in Utah.

The club has been around since 1991, but singing groups have become a little more rock n’ roll these days thanks to TV shows and movies like Glee and Pitch Perfect.

These talented young men decided to use their gift for a hilarious and charming Valentine’s Day prank.

Dressed in crisp, white button-down shirts and black ties, they explored the hallways, library and study rooms of their college campus.

When they found an unsuspecting woman, they would jump out of nowhere, serenade her with a song and hand her a rose (or a snowman, when singing the hit from Frozen).

The reactions were mixed…

…but always ended with a smile.

I’m surprised none of the boys were injured by women acting out of self-defense!

I can’t lie—I might’ve thrown hands if a group of people came up from behind me while I was eating. Even so, everyone seemed to take the approaches very well.

After all, who doesn’t like receiving flowers?

A couple of women laughed, panicked and ran away.

Obviously, not everyone likes to be on camera!

Let’s be honest: it can be pretty awkward when someone is singing at you. It’s bad enough when you have to sit there while your friends sing “Happy Birthday,” so imagine a stranger singing a love song at you.

One of the singers seemed to use the opportunity as a way to ask out a girl he likes!

Singing “I Can’t Help Falling in Love With You,” he sang to her on his own, handed her a rose and his friends came in for the backup vocals.

She was brought to tears, and you can hear her saying “yes.”

Good luck to anyone who tries to top that!

They run all over campus giving a lot of heart—and a few heart attacks, too.

Still, what’s so beautiful about the video is how cheerful everyone is.

We live in a world where romance seems to be dying off. That’s not to say it doesn’t exist, but you’re much less likely to be gifted a rose from an adoring stranger…and unfortunately, a rose emoji sent on Tinder just doesn’t have the same effect.

Watching these guys breathe a little old-fashioned charm back into the age-old holiday is refreshing!

In Barcelona, Spain, they don’t celebrate Valentine’s Day like we do here—they celebrate something called Sant Jordi (or St. George’s Day) instead.

The tradition is to give women roses and men books, but in modern times it’s not dictated by gender—anyone can receive flowers, books or both! If you ask me, there’s a little more romance in that than buying heart-shaped chocolates and pink teddy bears.

Based on how the women around BYU were beaming after receiving their rose and a song, it’s safe to say Valentine’s Day isn’t all about material goods.
