The song “Boogie Shoes” by Kc and The Sunshine Band is a classic that you’ve probably heard at some point or another. It’s one of those songs that’s always on the radio, and it’s very catchy.

But even if you’ve heard the song before, you’ve probably never seen someone dance to it quite like the dog in this video. This pup, Hero, is an incredible dancer.

Hero lives with his mom, Sara Carson. Carson started her career in Ontario, Canada, running a dog training facility for over 5 years.

According to her website, she “taught dog tricks, obedience, puppy foundation, and agility classes.” But she was so good that she soon became a coveted trick dog trainer as well as a “dog mom” to The Super Collies, even making an appearance on The Late Show with David Letterman.

But her accomplishments don’t stop there.

“She has aptly earned her title as Celebrity Dog Trainer after placing 5th on season 12 of America’s Got Talent. She also was awarded Dog Trainer of The Year in 2017 from Greater Mats.”

Now she lives in Los Angeles, California, where she continues to train willing pups.

Carson’s dog training began with the collie she bought at age 17 – Hero. Hero was the dog that made her famous.

Using positive training, she managed to train at least three dogs to perform with her all over the globe. But Hero was the first, and her video of the two dancing to “Boogie Shoes” is just too cute to miss.

Just look at these two boogie-ing together:

Hero and Carson are not only dancing together in the video but there’s choreography involved!

Well, maybe it’s better described as a series of tricks set to music, but either way, it’s very impressive. And commenters agreed:

“Collies are some of the smartest dogs that ever lived, and it’s amazing to see him pull this off.”

Others could only marvel at how talented Hero is, especially those who know how hard it is to train a dog.

“geez I can barely get my dog to sit when I say,” joked a viewer.

According to Animal Wellness Magazine:

“In 2014, he became a service dog to help Sara overcome her mental health issues; he has since continued his training to assist with other medical conditions.”

And in the summer of 2018, Hero broke the Guinness World Records title for “Most tricks performed by a dog in one minute,” completing 49 tricks in 60 seconds. He’s not just a dancer, but an all-around performer!

Carson’s world travel has been interrupted by the pandemic, but before that she taught workshops all over the globe.

She also released a mobile app called Puppr, which “includes step-by-step video and photo instructions for lessons that range from new dog basics like potty training to advanced tricks like handstand.”

Hero is now a senior, and he’s enjoying spending his golden years with Carson and her other Collies. He’s mostly retired, but he did recently appear in a movie called A Genie’s Tail, showing that this old pup still has some pep in his step. What a smart boy!
