Some of us find it difficult to walk straight especially after a long day.
When you see how Amy Refaeli and Jonathan Friedman move around with their bodies though, it’s like the whole world seems so unfair all of a sudden. They’re unreal.
This was during the World Acrobatics Championship.
Jonathan Friedman is a very young man who hails from the community of Salit in Samaria. This incredible acrobat is no stranger to world competitions, even winning them with his teammate you see in this video, Amy Refaeli.
These two are that good.
The dynamic duo from Israel have proven time and time again that they are a force to be reckoned with.
Acrobatic gymnastics is by no means an easy discipline. Friedman and Refaeli make it look so effortless.
It’s a competitive gymnastic discipline consisting of acrobatic moves, dance and tumbling, set to competitors’ choice of music. Years of practice and dedication are what ensures success.
But Friedman and Refaeli dazzle the audience with flips and poses that seem to defy the limits of limbs and joints. Refaeli seems to be made of rubber here!
She even has Friedman hoist her up into the air where she does a few spectacular flips before landing back down, then being thrown up for another set of spins.
Jonathan currently serves as an IDF soldier with an outstanding athlete status.
That means he can continue to train professionally while serving his country. He is the eldest of three brothers who are all engaged in professional sports.
His mother, Liat Friedman, says that “we are proud of him and happy that all his hard work is bearing fruit. He’s a good son, a good brother, a good friend. He finished twelfth grade with honours, despite the time he spent training.”
The Head of the Samaria Council, Yossi Dagan, has awarded Jonathan with an outstanding athlete scholarship several times. His latest achievements had Friedman receiving more.
Friedman has been training since he was 13 years old. The incredible athlete boasts of a series of wins and medals like the European Champion title which he won three times.
Then in 2018, he won a silver medal at the Youth Olympics when he was 15.
Last year had Friedman winning the silver at the world championships.
Jonathan and Amy have been competing together as a team for four consecutive years.
That’s a whole lot of practice and dedication to a discipline that’s not exactly famous compared to other sports.
“I’ve never seen this type of acrobatic routine … couples….. what an interesting mix of acrobatics, dance that appears to be a mix of classical, ballet, figure skating, at least to me that’s how I perceive it….. this routine was impressive…. flawless!” says a viewer named Reba Perkins.
