Couple show steps for upbeat linedance to Copperhead Road
I would have watched this just to hear the song but they're so good they had me dancing along.

We all have our favorite dance styles.

Some of us like to dance cha cha, swing, tango, salsa, waltz, hip-hop, or line dance.

And some of us want to dance these styles to our favorite songs, even when they don’t seem to match the beat.

Dirt Road Dancing has got you covered!

They’re a dance organization that specializes in converting classic country dance styles into a faster, modern-edge swing dance.

Based in Boise, Idaho, they teach dance lessons (both basic and advanced), wedding dances, and line dances.

“People love to dance, and we love to teach” is the philosophy they believe keeps them full of passion with a commitment to dance.

This time, they’ve created a line dance choreography to Copperhead Road by Steve Earle.

Their footwork is on point.

“You want this in all of your parties or in your clubs. This is a fun song to do,” Dirt Road Dancing co-founder Elise Lorcher began.

And because it’s always great to dance with a friend, she called out her co-founder, Troy DeRosier, to dance with her.

Fun fact:

Before they opened Dirt Road Dancing, Troy, despite his love of country music and creating a fun, dance atmosphere as a DJ, does not know country swing.

It was thanks to Elise that he found a new appreciation for country swing dancing.

And as the first notes of the song played out, we can definitely see Troy is super comfortable with country swing dancing now.

Great for any beginner to watch.

He’s definitely a great inspiration and motivation to keep going with learning this dance!

They started with their backs to us, swinging back and forth, before they moved on to the 16-count line dance.

And it’s such a simple dance.

With constant practice, anyone can dance to it. But it’s true what Elise said at the beginning of the video.

“You always want to dance it out with a friend, right?” Elise asked before inviting Troy to join her.

And the people who watched this video loved it! Plus they couldn’t help but get up and dance along with Elise and Troy.

“I just came to listen to the song. Now I’m dancing in my living room,” Gregory commented.

“Great job guys. Easy to learn, easy to execute. Line dancing is the only hope of white men looking like they have a shred of rhythm on the dance floor. We should all embrace this gift from the dance gods!” Chris Guitars added.

“I also wanted to give props to the dancers for having one dancer continue the basic steps and the other dancer do more of a freestyle with it at the end it was really great to see that and how you can add your own flare to it,” beneath.the.roses noticed.
