Now – this is real dancing.

There are new dance trends that come and go throughout the years, but some people prefer to keep the classic ones alive.

Sure, you might not see dancers busting out their boogie-woogie skills at your local nightclub. However, if you take a quick cruise around the internet you’ll find there are plenty of individuals who still practice the art of swing dancing.

Need an example? The two couples in the video below show onlookers that they know how to “boogie” like it’s nobody’s business. It’s an energetic performance that may inspire you to seek out your own dancing shoes.

Be prepared to feel like you’ve traveled way back in time.

The participants are wearing sharp, vintage clothing to reflect the trends from many decades ago. Playing in the background is an upbeat rock song that sounds like it’s from the ’50s. (Seriously, does anyone else suddenly crave a cherry coke?)

But most of all, it’s their impressive moves that make it seem as if you’re watching an old movie.

Who’s ready to boogie?

Boogie-woogie dancing is a variation of swing that came to the scene in the 1950s. When it comes to the dance, the most common music genres it’s paired with are rock-and-roll, blues, and of course, boogie-woogie!

Overall, fast-tempo music helps keep the moves flowing for the dancers. Even today there are many people interested in the style, and even some who enter major competitions with their skills.

A man named Sam Mckee is the one who filmed the talented couples featured in the video. And oh boy, are we ever glad he took out his phone to do so.

At first, the two pairs dance in a synchronized-fashion with a crowd watching from the sidelines.

They whip around the floor so swiftly, it’s as if not one of them weighs more than a feather. Really, the feeling must be so freeing, don’t you think?

Suddenly, one of the couples moves out of the way to let the other take the spotlight for a bit.

The man and woman show off their talents for boogie-woogie dancing, which includes spins and moving their feet at an incredibly fast rate. But then, they take it to another level when he suddenly flips her in a circle. Wow!

But that’s not the only awesome move they had. You may find yourself cheering too when you see what they’re capable of.

It’s time to see the other couple shine during their solo act.

Just like their friends, their feet move as fast as lightning to the track. They too have a pretty jaw-dropping flip that drives the crowd wild.

When it comes to the boogie-woogie dance, the website Sydney Swing Katz explained:

“The step variation for boogie dance is a combination of six and eight count with sharp, quick movements. It often makes use of a syncopated beat, which helps to create the constant footwork for which boogie is widely recognised.”

Eventually, both couples finish their performance off strong going back to a synchronized routine. Fortunately for us, every moment was caught on film.

It’s a classic boogie-woogie routine that the internet can’t get enough of. On Facebook alone, it’s been shared more than 36,000 times over the years.
