Disney just released a new video that’s gone viral — and it’s making everyone cry. The video depicts a tiny duck with a Donald Duck magazine. It’s his only possession, and Baby Duck treasures it. The video shows (completely without dialogue) that the famous cartoon duck is Baby Duck’s hero.
He looks at it and follows Donald Duck’s adventures. He even spends time mimicking his hero’s famous stances and lines. It’s obvious that he’s dreaming of meeting his idol one day.
Until one day in the winter, he’s forced to fly away, leaving his precious magazine behind.
We see his sadness as the magazine falls into the water and sinks from sight.
The little duck is heartbroken without the stories of his hero. As he wanders sadly through the grass, he suddenly stops and looks up. To his amazement, standing in front of him is his hero: Donald Duck in the flesh.
As Cinderella’s castle becomes visible in the background, the little duck launches himself forward and hugs Donald’s leg, snuggling into him joyfully.
The short film is just a minute and 16 seconds long, but it encapsulates following your dreams and one day, achieving them.
The video comes from Disneyland Paris and carries the tagline “Where magic gets real.”
It’s been circulating around the internet and getting tons of attention from people who are touched by the adorable little duck and his story of following his dreams.
“You make me cry a lot!!!” wrote YouTube user Marco Ludovico. “In just a few minutes, I can feel the same emotions of a true Disney movie! Congratulations for this wonderful commercial!!! I can’t wait to come back to Disneyland”
Making people cry seems to be the running theme of the ad.
Commenters in French, English, and other languages consistently said that the short film moved them to tears.
“God, I’m so in love with this ad,” wrote YouTube user Kika Cabrera. “Can’t stop crying every time I watch it …”
Disneyland Paris, once Euro Disney, is located just outside Paris. It draws up to 15 million visitors on a yearly basis, with two separate parks (Disneyland Park and Walt Disney Studios Park), and tons of events, shows, attractions, and a full Sleeping Beauty castle.
The park has been around since the 90s, and it’s still as popular as ever.
It’s fully outfitted with amazing hotels and restaurants, lots of options for visitors with disabilities, and attractions like a Mickey Mouse Rodeo.
What’s more, it’s super easy to get to from the city center of Paris. So, it makes sense to schedule a visit if you’re on a trip to the French capital and want to get out of the city for a day. Though if you’re looking for a place that’s not crowded, Disneyland Paris is not the place to go: it draws thousands of visitors from all over the world every single day.
One of the most amazing attractions in the park is Sleeping Beauty’s castle, which is almost unbelievable. It’s surrounded by a moat and, oh — a dragon lives underneath it.
There are also European riffs on classic Disneyland rides and attractions, including Space Mountain, It’s a Small World After All (which has a lot of extra additions over its American counterpart), and the Haunted Mansion. In Disneyland Paris, the Phantom Manor is even spookier than its continental version.
Disney’s new partnership with Pixar is fully explored at Disneyland Paris with some attractions that can’t be seen anywhere else in the world.
There, you can see a Finding Nemo roller coaster and a whole attraction dedicated, appropriately, to Ratatouille. The movie is perfect for the Parisian setting since it’s all about a French rat who wants to become a famous French chef.
Oh, and just to extend the Ratatouille theme, visitors can take a trip to the Ratatouille restaurant, Bistrot Chez Remy, where they’ll be magically “shrunk” down to the size of a rat before enjoying their meal.
The huge theme park has a total of seven hotels for guests to enjoy, all with different themes.
The hotels are beautiful and have rave reviews, so you can be sure that you’ll have an amazing stay if you ever take a trip to Disneyland Paris. You can also enjoy the nightly fireworks shows.
As for being able to speak the language, there is no need to worry about that — just say the words “Donald Duck” and you’ll be directed right where you need to go.
