As the old saying goes, talent often runs in the family.

Talent definitely runs in the Clark family as shown in this video where they gave a very animated rendition of “Burning Down the House.”

Without further ado, everyone, please meet the Clarks.

Colt Clark is a musician from Tampa, a city on Tampa Bay, along Florida’s Gulf Coast in America.

Like many other musicians over the summer of 2020, he had many gigs canceled as the world fought against a global pandemic. During the coronavirus lockdown, he and his family got very musically creative and decided to start uploading videos of his family playing music together.

Colt wanted to use the time he had during lockdown to share his passion for music with his kids.

The three children’s names are Beckett, Belle and Cash.

Turns out his three kids had inherited his musical talents. After spending time teaching them, Colt said: “I wanted to show the progress that the kids are making and show them that we can still have fun during these weird, strange times.”

At the beginning of Florida’s lockdown, they decided to record some songs to share with far-flung family members.

What started as a video dedicated to their relatives turned out to be a hit on the internet.

Little Belle (and her twin hair buns) hastily introduced the group—and from the beginning, she seems really giddy to start their performance.

Colt was in-charged of the guitar, plucking the strings swiftly to kick off the song, not missing a single chord.

Cash jived in with his keyboard and Beckett with his drums. Colt growled then sang the stanzas in a high pitch effortlessly. With his robust voice, he shifts from high to low notes showcasing his huge vocal range. As the video unveils, it turns out he can also be a one-man-band as he is shown playing various musical instruments as well.

Belle on the other hand tries to interpret the lyrics through her lively dance steps. Belle is definitely born a natural performer!

She is oozing with so much charm and charisma, putting you off-guard with her antics throughout the performance.

She also seldom plays with a pair of drums beside her while serving as backup vocals.

Beckett isn’t lagging with his performance either.

As the percussion master, he is the heartbeat of the band, giving it the rhythm and pulse. Despite his young age, he is nailing his job as the drummer, biting his lips with gusto. And lastly, Cash, our groovy keyboard guy.

“Burning Down the House” is a song by new wave band Talking Heads, released in July 1983 as the first single from their fifth studio album Speaking in Tongues.

And no, it’s not a song about arson (nor promoting it).

David Byrne, the vocalist of the band, said that when he wrote the lyrics in 1982, he was inspired by the audience’s chant “burn the house down.

It stuck with him and thought of it as a metaphor for destroying something that offers you safety and comfort but in return entraps you, thus the title phrase. He envisioned the song as an expression of liberation, to break free from whatever was holding you back, emancipating yourself in the process.

Overall their performance was a blast.

Their energy can be felt through the monitor and their laughter is extremely contagious leaving the audience with smiles on their faces!
