People perform on the streets for lots of different reasons. Some of them do it to earn money. Others simply want to share their passion and make people happy.
Stray Melody is no stranger when it comes to performing on the street.
In fact, the Irish band is quite familiar with the crowd on Grafton Street in Dublin. They perform there regularly to entertain passersby.
During one of their amazing performances, a little girl showed up.
Wearing a bright yellow coat, she started dancing in front of them. She probably felt excited after hearing their mash-up of “Closer” by The Chainsmokers with Halsey and Carley Rae Jepsen’s “Call Me Maybe.”
At first, the band looked intrigued.
They were probably wondering who the little girl was. Moreover, they were confused as to why she was there.
The girl with beautiful wild curls didn’t care about anything else.
She was dancing her heart out. She was just enjoying the beat the band was playing.
She’s a fantastic dancer.
It’s not clear if she received proper training or if she’s just a very gifted child. Well, that didn’t matter as the crowd clearly enjoyed her performance.
She moved with grace.
Her steps were on-point. Even the way she moved her hands and legs was amazing.
At the end of her performance, the crowd tried to give her money.
However, that wasn’t the reason why she danced that day. So she refused to receive the offer and went back running to her mom.
Although the identity of the child remains unknown, she’ll forever be a star to everyone who’s watched her dance that day.
The band uploaded the video to their YouTube channel.
And there, it has earned more than 770,000 views. Along with the video, they posted:
“Sometimes amazing things can happen when you perform on the street. This young dancer came out of nowhere during our set yesterday and brought Grafton street to a standstill with her epic moves.”
And like them, people who’ve watched the footage online had nothing but praises for the child.
One of them said:
“This made me cry but in a good way…she’s carefree & fearless and just having fun. The band loves her spirit and just lets her dance…kudos to all of these amazing talents!”
Another one commented:
“This kid has music and dance in her soul. She is oblivious to the watching bystanders and dances freely to express herself in music and motion without any shyness. Good moves and timing! She’s just a happy kid!”
There was also this person who said:
“The confidence this child has is unbelievable! She was dancing purely out of joy and nothing else. I pray she continues to grow in her own unique self and personality. You go hun 😽”
Sometimes, we need to be like this kid. With so many things going on these days, it wouldn’t hurt if we try to dance our hearts out every once in a while.
