Guy only has 1 guitar string but it’s no obstacle for his skills
This isn't something you see every day.

If you watch guitar players, they take full advantage of every string. Not only do they make beautiful sounds by picking but also by playing chords. Some, like Jeff Beck, Martin Barre, and Stevie Ray Vaughn have taken the world by storm with their unmatched skills.

But what would happen if those same professionals had just one string on their guitar. Well, because they’re so good, they’d probably perform well. How about someone who’s not a professional yet still capable of making beautiful music with a single string?

Hint — Don’t adjust your sound — Be patient.

Is that even possible?

The more you think about it the less you might feel something like that’s possible. But one man is here to prove us all wrong. In a video that’s now been viewed more than 1.1 million times, people are astounded that someone exists with this capability.

Very unassuming

Often, it’s easy to spot a musician. But in this case, the man playing the guitar doesn’t fit the typical mold. He’s wearing a light blue Nike hoodie and rose-colored glasses. But as they say, “looks can be deceiving.”

Appearing a little nervous

We’re not sure if he’s just messing around or really nervous. At the start of the video, he doesn’t appear all that confident. But that’ll soon change.

Contemplating his next move

Before he begins playing, he looks over his guitar. He still acts as though he’s not sure he can play with a single string. He even appears somewhat confused. Personally, we think he’s just goofing around because he knows what’s about to happen.

Picking the string

Initially, there’s no sound to the video but don’t worry. As soon as he begins picking the string, you can hear. At that point, his playing doesn’t impress. But he’s just getting warmed up for a spectacular performance.

There he goes

His picking starts getting faster and faster until suddenly, he begins playing real music. Watching how quickly his fingers move combined with the amazing sound he produces…you can’t take your eyes away in fear of missing something.

You probably know the song

The song he chose is an ancient Mediterranean melody played in both Pulp Fiction and Miserlou. Most people relate it to surfing although it could relate to anything you want. Regardless, this guy has some serious talent.

A full-stringed guitar

If this guy is this good playing with just one string, just imagine what he could do if he had a guitar with all six strings. There’s no question he’s extremely gifted. The only problem is the video isn’t long enough. But what we get to see is amazing.

A cool ending

Since this particular song is usually associated with surfing, the video ends with an ocean scene placed on top of the man playing the guitar. It’s a nice effect.

He’s ‘not the only one

Believe it or not, several talented people can play a guitar with just one string. Another remarkable example is Bushy who performs the song, “Chicken in the Corn.” This man is also incredibly gifted.
