First, we had to know what the song was all about.

Wish You Were Here was Pink Floyd’s ninth studio album that was released in 1975. The entire album’s concept was centered around the theme of absence, specifically the absence of one of their band members, Syd Barrett, who suffered from a mental breakdown that caused his exit in 1968. The remaining members including David Gilmour, Roger Waters, Nick Mason and Richard Wright continued the band without him, but they were devastated by Barrett quitting.

They had a small mic and amplifier set up on the side of the street, with an open guitar case for their generous listeners.

They opened with a melancholic instrumental which grabbed the attention of bystanders and people just passing by. An interested crowd surrounded the brothers in no time, to listen and take videos on their smartphones.

His brother Gil also had a way of making their performance a hundred times better. Gil’s fingerpicking and vocal harmonies were on point and they all greatly complimented their performance.

The Gat Brothers emerged as social media celebrities with their renditions to classics.

Since they were both parts of an Orthodox Jewish community, their performance showed the world that they could spend time in their synagogues as well while performing rock classics in the world outside of it. This is definitely not a sight you see everyday!
