Nowadays, it seems like police officers everywhere are getting in on popular internet challenges – and we’re so glad they are! It’s given us a chance to see the men and women in blue let their hair down and show off their dancing skills. Frankly, a lot of them are really good too.

One dance craze that’s taken over the internet is “The Git Up Challenge.” And unsurprisingly, cops across the nation have been lacing up their invisible cowboy boots as well. Just like a couple of officers from the Houston Police Department, who couldn’t resist boogying down to “The Git Up.”

It all started during the summer of 2019.

Blanco Brown’s “The Git Up” music video became an instant hit and inspired people all over the world to participate in the viral challenge.

The Git Up Challenge isn’t even hard; anyone who has already seen the dance steps would know how catchy and easy it is.

In fact, the video from Blanco Brown that started this craze already has 124M views and is still trending! The music is definitely a refresher to the usual songs that we hear and it’s so appealing.

For the challenge, all you have to do is to follow the choreography from the music video and upload your own version. You can also tag someone who you want to challenge – and that’s it.

Two cops from the Houston Police Department (or HPD) decided to get in on the craze.

Being the tough officers that they are, Officer John Williams and Officer J. Lahar happily accepted the challenge!

The video starts with the “We ♥ Houston” landmark and then shifts to two handsome policemen who are each holding a bottle of water.

What better way to do this challenge than to proudly wear your uniform? Oh, did we mention that they’re also wearing cool sunglasses? It completes the look and adds to the overall “Git Up” appearance.

We love how they also sing along and smile at the audience. You would even think that these two are celebrities.

Based on the uploaded video, they are policemen John Williams (aka j_will5734) and J. Lahar (aka mr_officer713).

Both have their own Instagram accounts with the same usernames and each of the guys already has more than a thousand followers. The people of Houston definitely love these two!

Not only are they good at dancing (and obviously handsome), but they are also very dedicated to their profession and community.

With all the tiring and serious work that these guys are doing each day, being able to relieve stress by accepting fun challenges like this is definitely something to look forward to.
