Performing the same song that he stunned Jennifer Lopez with, Hollywood sings his heart out for the random people riding the trains in Essex, England.

It’s not just Hollywood Anderson’s voice that makes him special, his struggle with homelessness touched people’s hearts all across America when he auditioned for American Idol.

During the first audition, Hollywood explains how came to play the guitar even though he was without a home:

“I’ve been living in New York for about two years, I’ve been homeless, I’ve slept on trains for my dream. I just learned how to play guitar like a year ago, it was gifted to me at Covenant House.” Hollywood told the judges on American Idol(2015), before bursting into tears with Jennifer Lopez tearing up beside him.

Although judge Harry Connick Jr. called Hollywood’s performance “the best audition” he’d seen, a series of awkward performances ultimately got the singer/songwriter axed before the top 24—but that didn’t stop him.

Even before his time on American Idol, Hollywood Anderson was already going viral for his amazing street busking performances and original music.

His performance on the subway in Essex, England was just the second video he uploaded to YouTube—the first was the official version of his original song “My Best Friend,” and they both went viral.

It’s actually surprising how many people in Essex walk by with no reaction to his music, I definitely would have to stop if even just for a minute.

Not only does he have the voice of an angel, but Hollywood Anderson also has a sarcastic and carefree aura about him that makes just being around him seem fun. He also shows tons of gratitude, which gives us an idea of the kind of person Hollywood is.

In a recent Instagram post he wrote:

“Thankful for everything that the guitar has given me …. for the freedom it has given me… I’m blessed to be able to live my dream! I’m blessed that you guys support me 🙏🏿 and every day I’m lucky to wake up and fight the good for every single dreamer who wants to wake up in Vegas one day and go eat the meal of their dreams.”

People on the internet went crazy for Hollywood Anderson’s unique voice, putting him in the spotlight a year before his memorable time on American Idol.
