Mick McLoughlin is a well-known face on the streets on Grafton Street in Dublin, and his busking never fails to attract a huge crowd.

Interestingly, in this particularly viral video, the charismatic busker decided to change the scenery a bit. In this video, Mick put a huge smile on a boy’s face—and you’re sure to have a smile on your face when it’s all over too!

Seeing the happiness on the kiddo’s face will delight you. The music found a way to the little one’s heart as he laughs and claps along. Pure joy!

Back then when the video was filmed, face masks weren’t required.

Terence Power, the co-host of the popular Talking Bollox Podcast, was on a train with his young brother, Edward Gilligan. In an interview with Dublin Live, Power explained that his brother has got non-verbal autism and that McLoughlin regularly performs for him.

“I had to film it because it was just so darn adorable,” said Power.

Well, we can’t argue on that one! The boy clearly seems to enjoy the show. You can see little Edward sitting on his seat by the window, the sun lighting up his face as the music plays in the background. What else could a little fellow need for a pleasant journey?

“You’ve Got a Friend in Me” has been covered numerous times, but we love this version the best.

It is appropriate, cheerful and the boy loves it! Congratulations Mick, you’ve chosen the perfect song for the little mate with curly, blonde hair. The moment when Edward’s little hands begin to applaud is absolutely precious.

We could watch this performance again and again!

After Terence published it on TikTok, the video went viral in just a couple of days.

Neither Terence nor McLoughlin expected so much attention, but we think that it was inevitable. Who wouldn’t react to such an act of pure kindness? Our hearts melted after we saw the little boy enjoying the song so much.

As it turns out, seven-year-old Edward is Mick’s “good pal.”

Upon receiving so many positive comments, Mick had to comment on the whole situation, and he did so via his Facebook page.

He explained the situation there pretty simply:

“I didn’t do this to get the attention I did it because Edward is my pal and I hadn’t seen him I ages and seen him on the Luas I couldn’t sing to my pal.”

We understand—it must be an honor to have a friend like Edward. His reaction is spontaneous and sincere, which makes the video even more heart-warming.

Randy Newman wrote “You’ve Got a Friend in Me” for the 1995 animated film Toy Story.

The song quickly became a Disney classic, and it’s hard to find a kid today who hasn’t seen it.

Judging by his immense joy, we’re guessing that Edward is a huge fan of the film.

McLoughlan’s version is very appealing, but you’ll find so much more once you visit his YouTube channel. From traditional Irish songs to The Beatles, there’s nothing Mick cannot bring to life with his acoustic guitar. For more, just check out his cover of John Lennon’s “Imagine”!

Without a doubt, he’s a busker with some real talent—he’s just waiting on the perfect audience to take him to the big time.
