If you’re a fan of cheerleading or just have an appreciation for extraordinary talent – the squad from Japan will likely blow you away.

Cheerleading is a sport that’s considered as American as apple pie. In fact, it originated in the U.S. and has several million participants in the country alone.

While Americans might be used to seeing cheerleaders paired up with sporting teams or in competitions – it’s not an activity that’s recognized across the globe. Yep, the captivating performances don’t take place in a lot of areas abroad.

There are some countries, however, that have adopted the sport over the years. China, Japan, Canada, Australia, Finland, and France (among others) have all developed cheerleading at various paces and levels.

According to Newsweek, cheerleading became more globalized after ESPN International began televising American cheer events in 1997. Also, films like Bring It On (which was a worldwide hit) also helped contribute to it gaining popularity.

Let’s just say that when it comes to Japan’s team, they were a force to be reckoned with.

Only moments after their performance began they had the crowd going wild. After all, it started with an amazing stunt where three cheerleaders were tossed effortlessly into the air.

The cheerleaders flipped across the mat showing off their gymnastics skills, right as a flag stating their country’s name was held up.

But there’s so much more to come…

Get ready for some high-flying stunts and human pyramids that have left the internet awestruck.

Throughout the performance, the all-female team demonstrates skills that must have taken a great deal of time and dedication in order to achieve. At points, they look like acrobats in the circus.

You gotta admit, it takes a brave person to become a flyer (the cheerleader who’s raised up for aerial stunts). There’s a lot of trust, skill, and balance involved with the role.

During Japan’s routine, they have four men standing at the back of the mat. Anytime the cheerleaders would perform daring moves they’d move forward to be an extra set of hands (if needed).

Not everyone would be courageous enough to seek out the flyer position. But that’s okay, because some of us are happy to just watch from the sidelines!

Over and over the squad impresses everyone sitting in the crowd. In the end, they even create a three-tier pyramid with four ladies at the top.

The internet is swarming with mind-boggling acts that take our breath away. If you’re someone who enjoys watching them, this will definitely be your cup of tea.

By no surprise, it’s a performance that’s been viewed on YouTube more than two-and-a-half million times! Naturally, some people haven’t been able to resist leaving comments.

One person wrote:

“I watched this entire video with my mouth wide open. YASSSS!!!!!”

Another commenter pointed out their out-of-this-world skills.

“I’m having doubts about them being human.. they are all doing it like it is nothing! and that is amazing!!”

A former cheerleader posted:

“I’m impressed we didnt do stuff like that when i was a cheerleader…wow”
