Judges Blast Levine When He Doesn't Turn For Talented Singer

June 13th, 2019

Every once in a while, there’s an audition on a talent show that will be remembered for years to come because it’s just so special, unique and pure. Trevin Hunte’s blind audition for the third season of The Voice USA is most definitely one of them.

The humble man says that he has always had some confidence issues in his life, but you wouldn’t notice that at all if you hear this talented performer on the stage.

He decided to perform “Listen”, and that’s really all you can do with a voice like that.

Within mere seconds, Christina Aguilera hit her shiny red button as she was convinced this talented performer would be a fantastic fit for her team.

Trevin’s vocal control is absolutely out of this world – the man manages to hit all of the notes absolutely perfectly and his voice can only be described as crystal clear, passionate and full of control and energy. One could say that there are not enough superlatives in the world to describe Trevin’s amazing talent.

Around half a minute into the audition, the singer already had the entire audience behind him and the other coaches were jamming along. Blake Shelton was the second one to turn around his chair and CeeLo Green followed shortly after, but not before he let his enthusiasm get the better of him.

The fourth and final coach, Adam Levine, decided not to press his red button even though he was clearly enjoying the performance, something he would likely regret later on. “What is wrong with you, Adam?”, Blake shouted near the end of the song. The audience and the people watching at home couldn’t agree more.

When the audition was over, Trevin was met with tremendous applause and a standing ovation from the judges who turned around.

“What planet do you come from dude,” CeeLo Green funnily asked in astonishment.

As you’d expect, Adam was immediately asked why in the world he didn’t turn his chair around.

“Well, you’re obviously ridiculously good. I think I’m just scared of the three of you right now,” he humorously replied.

When Trevin then told the judges that he only recently turned 18, they almost couldn’t believe him and were even more amazed.

“I’m completely blown away,” Christina said. “I don’t even know what to say other than please pick me, I want you to be on my team!”

However, CeeLo Green’s words resonated with him the most.

“I gotta say, I just got to let it be known, man – you just might that dude that would win this thing this time. What do you think your own limitations are, how do you think anybody else up here can help you?”

The response Trevin gives him is just as emotional as it is surprising. He says that confidence is a thing that he never really had and that he was brought down ever since he was little because of people telling him he would never amount to anything in life. He wanted to have a coach that could help him improve his skills and his confidence, and thought that CeeLo was the perfect candidate for the job.

Eventually, Trevin Hunte made it to the Top 4 of that season of The Voice, and the people watching at home felt that the man absolutely deserved to win. Nonetheless, thanks to this one audition, Trevin’s life has definitely changed for the better and now he’s able to make a living out of doing what he loves the most: singing.

What a beautiful and powerful audition!
