Although it’s definitely hard to make a living as a street performer, the rise of the internet has made it at least a little easier to make sure your voice and your performances circulate as much as they can.

Sometimes, it can even mean that a relatively old performance starts picking up some steam again.

Although he has his own original compositions as well, he also does interpretations of other famous recordings and modern pop songs also. In all, his channel has amassed more than 700,000 followers on YouTube.

Still, his most popular video is a street performance of the theme song from the movie “The Last of the Mohicans.”

As the clip begins, Querevalú can be seen sitting on his knees in the middle of a crowd.

He’s wearing traditional clothing and there’s backing music playing to help him build atmosphere. A moment later, he picks up a wooden flute and starts playing the recognizable, beautiful melody.

Although it’s hard to play these instruments no matter what, he manages to do it with such fluidity and soul! A moment later, the tones get much higher and the energy of the performance rises.

After that, he takes things up a notch.

To proceed through the song, he picks up two shakers and starts chanting and singing the lyrics.

Although that part is a brief interlude, he quickly sets those instruments down and picks up the flute again to play the next part of the melody.

When that’s over, he switches back over once again. While the song seems like it would need more than one performer to play successfully, he manages to do the whole thing so seamlessly by quickly switching back and forth between the different parts.

While the song isn’t one of Querevalú’s original songs, it has gradually become one of his signature songs that he performs.

Ever since the clip was loaded online, it has been viewed a whopping 44 million times!

When it’s finally towards the end, he puts all the instruments again and starts gently singing the haunting final notes. The entire thing is undeniably emotional because of all the soul that Querevalú pours into it. Still, his channel also boasts all kinds of other powerful performances as well. In another popular video, he performs his own interpretation of “Colors of the Wind” from the Disney movie “Pocahontas.”

Above all, it’s clear that Querevalú is incredibly talented.

As these performances show once again, there’s so many talented people all over the world—and YouTube is a good way to find some of them! Needless to say, Querevalú definitely has a long musical career ahead of him.
