The music of Cuba is mostly influenced by West African and European music—particularly Spanish music.
Because it encompasses many unique traditions, various instruments, vivid performances and dance, Cuban music is considered some of the richest and most influential music in the world.
That is why Cuban bands often put on a show that attract big audiences. Imagine all that plus a very talented young child who has the rhythm in his blood. Irresistible, right?
This amazing video features the performance of a Cuban band Fusion Caribe.
As the video begins, there is a huge crowd around the street salsa band and you’ll soon figure out why. It’s because there’s a little kid who thinks he’s part of the band—he’sabout to steal everyone’s heart. The band members play several instruments including a cello, an acoustic guitar and various percussion and wind instruments. The little boy is holding the guiro.
For those who don’t know, the guiro is a Latin American percussion instrument with parallel notches cut into one side.
It is played by rubbing a stick or tines along the notches to produce a ratcheting sound—and the way this kiddo plays it leads to the cutest performance ever. At first he’s a little bit confused. It could be that boy isn’t used to so many people around him. However, he adapts quickly and gets really enthusiastic!
The other band members give the boy a much-deserved spotlight.
It’s amazing how much the boy looks up to them and imitates their moves! This boy is growing up surrounded by music, performing and singing—we’re guessing he’ll be a true heartthrob when he grows up.
The women in the audience already fancy the little man who knows his way with salsa.
It’s hard to catch up with the rhythm—even grown-ups find it hard sometimes. Even so, the kid keeps up quite naturally. This is a visual representation of what it means to have music in your blood!
Aside from being a guiro player, he’s a magnificent little dancer!
Driven by the example of the other couples dancing around him, he also shows off a little footwork.
In his baby overalls and white sneakers, he’s moving around like a little gentleman and no one can resist him. We can’t imagine anyone who’d be able to pass by this little kid and not leave some money.
We applaud the person who had the idea of putting this little gentleman in the show!
He’s the reason why we enjoyed it immensely.
All kids should experience something like this.
These kinds of experiences can build a child’s confidence, openness to communication and optimism. And judging by the five million people who watched this video, plenty of people out there agree!
This little boy’s engaging video was uploaded in the summer of 2018, and it has already taken the world by storm.
Though the comments on the video are turned off, we assume that everyone was as excited as we were to see this delightful little boy in action. It is funny, entertaining and is sure to put a smile on your face. Any kid who puts themselves out there like this, especially one with an instrument, is definitely going to get our attention!
