Little girls’ dance performance turns hilarious and has the crowd in laughter
Kid recitals are typically adorable and funny, but this one has earned over 1.7 million views for good reason.

Everyone has home videos of their little ones dancing. In the age of technology, a lot of the good ones go viral, like the tap-dancing routine to Aretha Franklin. But like anything, the videos that get the most attention (and most laughs) are always the ones where something goes wrong.

Unlike many toddler dance fails, this performance works like a play. There is a beginning, a middle, and an end. Anyone watching can pick out the plot of the story taking place right before their eyes. All by accident.

The video starts out with the parents clearly filming their own daughter, but that’s just the beginning.

There are clearly other girls on the stage, but you think that she’s going to be the star of the show. The cute little one not quite nailing the moves, behind just a little, and never on the beat. That’s typically the gist of these kinds of videos.

But just a little ways into the video at the edge of the frame you see another girl making faces – during all of her moves. If you’re not paying close attention you miss it, but they’re hilarious.

You get completely distracted from the dance and anything else going on and for some reason can only focus on the little girl making faces. But then the camera pans left for a split second and there’s something serious happening at the edge of the frame.

Two little girls are play fighting on the opposite side of the stage.

How could we have missed that this whole time?

These two little girls are playfully slapping each other’s arms opposite the supposed star of the show. While we thought that just one little girl was struggling with the dance moves, it turns out nearly none of them were even trying.

The camera pans back to the cameraman’s daughter, and she’s back to stealing the show. Strutting across the stage like she owns it, she passes a few of her fellow dancers, only to be out shadowed again by the dueling duo we saw before.

At this point, anyone watching from home is frustrated they don’t know what’s happening on stage left.

The camera pans left slightly and the little girls are back at swatting each other- but this time they get the others riled up with them.

The littlest girl joins in on what now is a chase around the stage and the three of them start to run around. There are a couple of girls who look frustrated their recital has taken a turn, but they just pretend to look like they know what they’re doing.

She jumps back in line like nothing ever happened and the other two disappear off camera again. The crowd is cracking up and anyone watching from YouTube has pulled out their popcorn waiting to see what could happen next.

The video widens and one little girl is clearly not happy about how this performance is turning out.

Clearly, something has gone down on stage left that we missed out on because she is done. She reluctantly joins hands with the others and tries to finish out the show when we see another little girl with glasses has stepped forward.

The girl with the glasses is doing her own thing.

Because yet again, a swatting match has broken out among the little ladies. The girl in the glasses is tired of it and just wants to dance!

While the others are either confused, chasing each other, or swatting each other, the girl in the glasses knows now it’s her time to shine. She’s moved to the front and making a big finish to the routine that they all lost along the way.

The others seem to realize that the song has ended and the dance is over, but they all look a little confused. Most exit the stage when the music ends, but the littlest one from the beginning stands looking confused still, almost bummed that she missed her routine with all the buzz.

The lights go out and her coach takes her by the hand off the stage.
