There’s nothing quite like watching a marching band in action. Whether they’re putting on a half-time show or just blowing us away with a one-off performance, their unique talents and amazing abilities to stay perfectly in sync are always sure to dazzle onlookers of all ages. It’s also amazing to see just how impressive certain young marching band members can be.
The team that makes up the Jefferson Davis High School Marching Band are only teenagers, but they have skills that will simply blow your mind!
Many of the group’s performances are uploaded to YouTube, and there have been some true classics in 2019, like the one below in which the Alabama troupe marched all the way around their high school and even out onto the parking lot.
And now here’s another flawless routine from the young marchers!
This time, it was during a half-time show, with the team taking to the field, led by 17-year-old drum major Justin Heideman, affectionately known as ‘Vanilla Funk’ to his bandmates.
Initially, we only see four members of the group out on the grass, but moments later, dozens more march out to join them for a simply staggering performance.
Waving flags, banging on drums, marching in time with the beat and playing their instruments with passion, every member of the band gives it their all. And as the performance continues, it only becomes more and more impressive.
Every member of the band knows their role to perfection, marching perfectly in sync with the others and moving with grace and elegance from start to finish.
The crowd can’t stop cheering as the performance reaches its own half-time point, but then another song starts to play and the crowd gets treated to a whole additional routine.
Shannon’s “Let The Music Play” serves as the soundtrack to the second part of the performance, with the female dancers taking center stage and wowing us all with their magical moves as the band keeps the beat going in the background.
It’s extraordinary to think that these awesome youngsters are all still in high school. They’re only teens but they perform with the confidence and maturity of full-grown adults.
The performance then calms down once more, before bursting into a third and final song!
We see the whole group putting so much passion and precision into each and every second of the show, even at the end when they must be pretty tired from all that marching and dancing. At the end, their routine gets the ovation it deserves as the band marches off the field triumphantly.
