Unless you live under a rock, there is a very good chance that you are familiar with Michael Buble and his spectacular voice.

Buble has done so much fantastic work in the music world. Seriously, name a jazz song and he has probably, almost definitely covered it.

One song that he recently took on was “Help Me Make It Through The Night” by Hopeton Lewis, which, to Buble, is a “beautiful, sad, lonely song.” Yep, pretty much hit the nail on the head!

“My concept had always been so strong and in my head, it was always a duet,” Buble explained on his Youtube channel, before going into his sweet rendition alongside Greatest Showman soundtrack star Loren Allred.

“I’d never heard it as a duet before but I’ve always seen it as this incredibly sad but beautiful story of two needy people that just did not have the strength to be alone anymore,” he said.

“I wasn’t sure who would sing it with me,” he said, before explaining that he had been watching The Greatest Showman. Then he heard Loren’s song in the movie and he loved the sound of it so much, he frantically went to Google to find out who she was.

The respect that Buble has for Allred is evident in their performance. Buble looks so happy to be there in that moment and then when Allred’s time comes to sing, he can’t help but look at her and smile. It’s obvious he appreciates her talents so much and we love to see it!

“I had a serious voice crush, and you know what’s funny? You never know who these people are when they come into the studio. Many times, you haven’t met them, and she walked in and was more than I could have ever hoped for,” Buble added.

As the two perform together, we also see clips of them backstage in the studio during the recording process. While Allred is recording her part, Buble breaks in to reassure her that she has the most beautiful voice ever.

He says he doesn’t want to embarrass her but she blushes and it is such an adorable moment.

“I had such joy with her as a person that I wanted the characters to fall in love at the end. So instead of ending off in this melancholy way, I changed the words to instead of just saying, ‘Help me make it through the night’ or ‘I don’t want to be alone’ … I just sang, simply, ‘You don’t have to be alone. I hope you make it through the night,'” he said.

Their version of the song has the sweetest ending ever.

At the very end of the song, the two sing together in harmony, “I’ll help you make it through the night.”

With that little switch, they changed the context of the story just a tad without going overboard and it totally works. After all, who doesn’t love a happy ending?
