Although weddings are a clear time of celebration for the starring couple, they also come with all kinds of other traditions.

Depending on which country or place you’re in, those traditions can vary quite a lot. In Hindu weddings, there’s a lot of dancing and singing. In American weddings, there’s the throwing of flowers to a bridesmaid and best man’s speeches and all sorts of other traditions.

With the advent of YouTube, there’s also been a huge explosion of flash mobs and dances, spontaneous performances that live on forever online.

And the video we’re talking about today is a definite play on those tropes.

When we think of viral wedding moments, most of the time, we’re thinking about flash mobs or daddy-daughter dances.

For whatever reason, the daddy-daughter dance has become enshrined as one of marriage’s most sacred institutions. Still, what about the mother-son dance?

Although this is a huge feature of many weddings in itself, it rarely gets as much attention or love online. Fortunately, the clip we’re about to discuss today sets out to change all that As it begins, the crowd is already cheering and the mom and son are dancing in the middle of the dance floor.

In the beginning, they’re dancing to “What a Wonderful World” by Louis Armstrong.

Although it begins like any other sentimental dance, that soon changes.

A moment later, the music starts to speed up a little bit… and “Billie Jean” by Michael Jackson starts playing in the background. With that, the whole crowd starts cheering and the son throws on a hat.

Before long, they’re busting a move and doing all kinds of funky maneuvers. By this point, the crowd is clapping along and everyone is having a great time.

Still, these two are only getting started.

After imitating the initial choreography, the son throws his hat into the crowd and a new song comes on.

This time, it’s “ABC” by the Jackson 5, and once again, the audience roars. After doing some more choreography, the song changes yet again into another upbeat number, this time by Pitbull.

Although they’ve proven that they’re great dancers by this point, they take things up a notch in the next moment. As soon as there’s a break in the song, the son does a full standing backflip!

With that, the audience goes completely crazy!

After that, they segue into some Beyoncé choreography to “Single Ladies.”

After sticking the last few moves, they take a bow and the whole crowd goes wild once again. Since the video was posted, it has earned nearly 11 million views on YouTube—and it’s easy to see why.
