Boy Pablo released their EP Roy Pablo in May 2017, and one of the tracks there called “Everytime” made it into YouTube’s recommended songs that same year.

Only a few thousand people viewed their video the first week it was released. Eventually, as people kept sharing about them on Reddit, the video got a little push that brought them up to more than 25,000 views.

Surprisingly, the song suddenly started popping on everyone’s recommendations tab on YouTube and has since garnered a massive view count.

Even Fabio, the band’s manager and collaborator, claimed during one of their interviews with Complex that the algorithm was a huge boost to popularizing the band.

“The YouTube algorithms were in our favor for some reason. From there, we started getting 40-50,000 views per day,” Fabio told Complex. “From there, we started getting 40-50,000 views per day, which has a direct correlation with all the streaming services Pablo’s music is available through. So in a matter of just a few days, all of Pablo’s songs are performing way better than normal.”

If this video popped up in your recommendations tab, then you might remember this guy wearing a pink hoodie!

Before clicking on the video itself, you may notice the thumbnail of a guy wearing shorts and a pink hoodie, holding an electric guitar.

Their music video was just as simple as the thumbnail looked—a bunch of dudes wearing simple clothes bringing their instruments, basking under the heat of the sun on the pier. You could see that they were squinting their eyes into the camera the entire video as they played their instruments along with their rhythm.

The Boy Pablo band’s song “Everytime” was a melancholic chill pill.

It was their video thumbnail that got plenty of people curious, but it was their music that made them stay.

The song is perfect for everyone who needs to take some time to relax. Pablo’s cold and soothing voice coincided well with the melancholic sound of their instruments. Even though it has a simple rhythm, the song was relaxing enough that you’ll want to put it on repeat.
