In 2019, they released a funk rendition of “What’s Love Got to Do With It” by American-born Swiss singer, songwriter and dancer Tina Turner.

This was Turner’s most popular song released in 1987 from her fifth album called Private Dancer. This is originally a pop genre with the song portraying conflicted feelings with somebody. However, Scary Pockets turned this into a dance kind of music yet retaining emotions that the song wanted to portray.

If you want to listen to your favorite oldies with a happy twist, you’re sure to love this cover!

The session started with Harlem-based guest singer, songwriter and producer Caleb Hawley’s soulful voice.

He retained the soul of the music even after reinventing it as funk. Furthermore, the backing musicians provided him a funky energy that he could work with comfortably.

His dance moves are contagious, and anyone hearing this would jump in to join the groove!

The instrumentalists were living in their own world, but Jack Conte’s performance was simply out of this world.

As everyone was focused on keeping up with the beat, Conte was smiling throughout the performance and was head-bopping as he slams the keys with extreme enthusiasm.

Overall, they were a terrific combination and Hawley was a perfect fit for the song.
