Siblings performs beautiful ice skating routine at the beat of ‘Nothing Else Matter’
I can't imagine how many hours they've worked in the routine to get that level.

Figure skating is the first-ever winter sport to be included in the Olympic Games.

First held at the 1908 Olympics in London and the rest is history.

The International Skating Union (ISU) is responsible for regulating international figure skating judging and competitions.

These international events include the Winter Olympics, the World Championships, the World Junior Championships, the European Championships, the Four Continents Championships, the Grand Prix series (senior and junior), and the ISU Challenger Series.

With the hundreds to thousands of world-class skaters, only a few of them are siblings. This video, in particular, features the fearsome sibling junior ice dancers of Team USA.

Everyone, meet Oona and Gage Brown.

They are part of a big family that consists of seven children.

Oona and Gage are talented skaters. They were introduced to skating back in 2009 and it was their older sister who influenced and inspired them to skate.

“I [Gage] started one year later when I was 7 and quickly jumped up the ranks in basic skills. Oona started that same year when she was 5, for an entire year she clawed her way around the rink refusing any help or to get off.”

They’ve proven themselves worthy of being on the team.

The Brown siblings competed as part of Team USA during the 2018-2019 season. They finished ninth and eighth at their Junior Grand Prix events.

Now, a year later, see how they’ve soared!

This YouTube video of their performance was posted by On Ice Perspectives. It’s their 2020-21 Free Dance performance which they did at Bryant Park’s Winter Village ice rink in New York.

Donning all black, they put on a display of a heart-stopping ice dance routine.

Skaters usually choose a song that’s calm, slow, and majestic, however, Oona and Gage picked something pretty exciting to ice dance to.

They set the tone of their dance to “Nothing Else Matters”.

Who doesn’t know the band Metallica? It’s an American heavy metal band that was formed back in 1981. The song was released in 1992 as the band’s third single from their self-titled fifth studio album, ‘Metallica’.

To call it a hit would be an understatement.

“The song peaked at number 11 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Tracks chart, number 6 on the UK Singles Chart, number 1 in Denmark, and reached the top ten on many other European charts.”

The song that they picked is a remix featuring Australian singer Marlisa.

Is the song going to match their performance? Their routine speaks for itself.

Shadows on ice, that’s what they look like.

It’s really dancing on ice because the Brown siblings incorporated their routine with some basic dance steps and movements to make the entirety of it more flavorful.

The synchronization of their movements is on point.

As the song progresses, the two pick up the pace as well by gliding faster, all the while keeping their posture and timing.

What sets them apart from the other ice skating performances is probably the creativity and the uniqueness of their choreography.

That’s the result of years of practice. There’s something really special in them that will leave anyone wanting for more.

Those camera angles are also out of this world.

Oona and Gage are undeniably talented skaters but what even added to the beauty of their performance was the way it’s filmed.

The camera angles, the wide shots, and close-ups are perfectly executed. Whoever’s in charge of the camera is amazing!

The video went viral and now has over 14.6 million views!

Some even couldn’t believe that the Brown siblings are just at the junior level.

“They’re only JUNIORS and they’re skating at this level??? I mean, this is national-level ice dancing! Incredible talent, can’t wait to follow their skating career. They have so much potential.”
