In the most recent season, the aspiring singer-actress Bethzienna Williams decided to audition. The 28-year-old woman has previously uploaded covers of songs to YouTube but has definitely been a lot more popular since her appearances on The Voice.

During her blind audition, she performed ‘Cry To Me’ from Solomon Burke, made popular by none other than Dirty Dancing.

As you probably know, the judges/coaches have no idea who’s performing a song as their seats are turned around.

With a press of a button, one of the judges can decide to support the singer and try to get them on their team. Jennifer Hudson decided to hit that Voice-button, and Bethzienna found herself in Team JHUD.

However, it was something after the audition that made this moment much more special.

Bethzienna had a quick talk with the legend Sir Tom Jones, who is universally adored for his songs such as ‘What’s New Pussycat’ and ‘It’s Not Unusual’. More specifically, he asked her why she chose to perform this song.

During their quick exchange, Bethzienna actually revealed that the reason she performed the song ‘Cry To Me’ in her audition, was because of its inclusion in her favorite movie ‘Dirty Dancing’.

Tom Jones was visibly elated and then revealed himself that he loved the song and recalls singing it in the summer.

“How do you know that song?” he asked the contestant. “It’s a great song. I love that. I sang that myself on stage. I sang it through the summer.”

Of course, it didn’t take long before the audience and the other judges starting cheering him so he would perform the song.

After a little while, Tom was more than happy to oblige their request!

As the cheers and the applause from the audience were deafening, Bethzienna quickly prepared herself for a once-in-a-lifetime duet with the one and only Tom Jones.

Jennifer Hudson was still amazed by the whole thing, so she had to take out her smartphone to capture it for herself.
