If you spend much time watching television, you’ve probably spent some time watching reality competition shows.

Though the craze started with American Idol, it has survived and lived on in the form of other television shows as well. For those who want a more unorthodox singing show, there’s The Voice, which has all kinds of twists and turns.

For those who want a broader talent competition, there’s the Got Talent franchise where anybody is eligible. Although we’re all mostly familiar with America’s Got Talent, the show is actually a worldwide franchise with all kinds of offshoots.

There’s even one offshoot that’s specifically dedicated to younger contestants.

On YouTube, the channel of these performances has been dubbed Kids Got Talent—though this performance happened on Spain’s Got Talent.

At the beginning of the performance, a man comes out and alerts the audience not to applaud or do anything too alarming—because the performer who’s coming out onstage is incredibly young.

As it turns out, he’s only two years old and he’s a drummer! With everything prepared (and the judges excited), the little boy comes out in his father’s arms holding two drumsticks!

Like the man at the beginning said, nobody claps so as not to scare him—but he’s so adorable!

A moment later, the father and the little boy, whose name is Hugo, introduce themselves to the audience.

Once that’s done, the father sets his little boy down in front of a drum and some backing music starts playing. The backing music is of some horns, and the entire thing has the feel of a military march.

Sure enough, Hugo starts tapping out some ominous rhythms on the drums and all of the judges’ jaws drop—he’s only two years old!

Still, what happens next is even more impressive.

While it’s clear that Hugo has a sense of the song, a moment later he shows just how refined his motor skills are.

As the song picks up in intensity, he moves his sticks to the rim of the drum and starts hammering out perfect paradiddles on them! By this point, the audience is completely in awe of how skilled he is for being so young.

The speed of the drumming increases but Hugo’s precision never changes. Some of the judges can’t believe their eyes. At the very end, he switches back to the actual drum.

Though he’s one of the cutest contestants the show has ever seen, everybody there is in total awe at his abilities first and foremost.

When it’s all over, the crowd gives him a huge standing ovation.

One of the best things about Got Talent is that it allows people of all ages and all different abilities to compete.

Even though Hugo is clearly still learning how to play, his skills for how young he is are truly incredible—and nobody can believe what they just saw. At the end, Hugo says hello to the whole crowd. When it’s all over, the judges take a vote.

Needless to say, he gets four yeses from the judges!

Hugo’s drum skills are incredible for a two-year-old, but it’s clear he has some ways to go still. Regardless, what he did took courage and the crowd was completely in awe—and the results were so heartwarming.
