Over the years, groups like Us the Duo has proven that to us with their countless song renditions and originals. The breathtaking duo took the internet by storm with their wonderful song covers and originals.
Carissa and Michael Alvarado first met in 2012, and as they formed their long-lasting loving relationship with each other, they found a way to merge their talents to create a band. They started by doing “half-faced singing videos” and uploaded them on the internet. Their videos were a hit, and they were soon performing around the world with talented musicians like Pentatonix and Tori Kelly.

Surely you’ve already heard of Meghan Trainor and John Legend’s epic duet, “Like I’m Gonna Lose You.”
The two pop stars poured plenty of love into that song, and lots of artists have already tried to recreate it on their own. Fortunately, Us the Duo took the performance on as well—and they were more than up to the challenge.
The couple sat in an empty room together with nothing but a camcorder in front of them.
Both of them welcomed themselves in an empty, white-painted room.
The acoustics of the room were vibrant and even their silent murmurs become audible because of it. As they knew it was the perfect place for another cover, they decided to go for a natural cover of “Like I’m Gonna Lose You” without any back-up instrumentation.
Carissa’s golden voice was amplified with the room’s perfect acoustics and Michael accompanied her with his clean beatboxing and finger-snapping.
Still, beatboxing isn’t Michael’s only skill—he also pitched in with backup vocals for Carissa as well. Carissa skimmed through the first chorus with Michael only providing a little vocal blend.
If heaven had a sound, it would probably sound like Carissa and Michael’s harmonious vocals.
Michael took John Legend’s part of the song and ran it down with his fluid yet powerful vocals.
His raw vocals sounded great even without any background music. Moving on to the next part, they sing the song’s chorus only this time, Michael sings with Carissa until the end.
Their blended voices accompanied each other perfectly and it is a treat to the ears.
They were perfect complements to each other! Michael made a booming addition to the outro, which was a great way to end the song. For the final touch, Carissa came back for a more powerful chorus and they both finished together beautifully.
The video was uploaded on YouTube, racking up almost 12 million views.
The viewers expressed how they are so passionate when they sang the song together, and they also loved how the room made every sound comforting.
So what are these two up to now?
Us the Duo have remained active for their fans for years, but now they have begun their biggest adventure with the arrival of their baby girl Xyla.
