Many people tuned in to watch The Grand Ole Opry for their heartfelt presentation and tribute to all our fallen soldiers.

The lyrics tell a story of a soldier who passed in service.

It makes you feel the pain of the people who loved him and the sacrifice he had to give to protect and serve our beloved country.

“We send our youngest off to war, not sure what he was fighting for.”

When your child expresses their desire to fight for our country, you would feel proud, happy, and scared all at the same time.

As parents, we would surely support our child’s dream, but when the day comes to send them away, the feeling of sadness never goes away.

“One night they showed up at our door, with a purple heart and nothing more.”

The Purple Heart medal is a solemn honor and distinction, but it’s not something that we would want to have.

This medal means that a service member paid the ultimate sacrifice of a soldier.

“Now we’re broken like we’ve never been. Ain’t no medal gonna bring him back again.”

For the loved ones of our fallen soldiers, no amount of honor or medal can bring their family back.

Each fallen soldier has a story, a mom, a wife, a brother, and a sister waiting for them.

“We love that boy till the bitter end. We fly that flag to remember him.”

The pain will never end, and the longing will always be there.

Deep inside, each family knows that their loved ones did this for our country.
