Sibling band’s acoustic Pink Floyd cover is one of the best we’ve heard

March 30th, 2021

Countless covers of Pink Floyd’s iconic song “Wish You Were Here” have been recorded, but few are as pleasing as the original—that is, until Boyce Avenue’s released their own acoustic version.

With its perfect mixture of calm acoustics and strong vocals, this performance is everything we need during these chaotic times.

The cover begins with Alejandro Manzano, the group’s lead acoustic guitarist, rocking a lengthy guitar solo.

As with most Pink Floyd masterpieces, we get some quality guitar notes to start the song. Alejandro is rocking some serious acoustic talent. He’s even playing on a 12-string!

As the song progresses, Alejandro’s brother Fabian joins in on the bass guitar, and the duo compliments each other’s skills in perfect harmony.

The first minute of the song is just purely guitar strings, and there isn’t a single word until almost a minute and a half later!

As the group’s lead vocalist, Alejandro starts to sing the now-famous lyrics to “Wish You Were Here.”

In addition to just his acoustic skills, Alejandro is rocking pitch-perfect vocals. It’s truly music to our ears!

As the song continues, Fabian gifts us with another guitar solo followed by his own vocal contributions. These brothers have some serious talent!

The duo goes on to perform a flawless musical rendition.

Cover songs can be a bit challenging when you’re having to recreate a Pink Floyd classic, but Boyce Avenue absolutely nailed it. With their strong vocals and strings, the band did not disappoint.

Even Pink Floyd would be impressed!

Boyce Avenue was started by three brothers in Sarasota, Florida.

As proud Sarasota natives, the brothers created the band name by combining two of their childhood street names. When they started out, they performed in front of close friends and family purely for entertainment purposes and didn’t think it would go much further than that.

They had no initial goals of starting a band.

After receiving tons of positive feedback, the brothers started to branch out and start performing at local venues.

They began showcasing their talents around a few college bars, but the college students they performed for weren’t giving the group the attention they felt they deserved.

After that, they decided to try their luck online—and that’s when things really took off!

To reach more viewers, the band began posting on YouTube.

This independent band now has a thriving YouTube channel where they can showcase their wide variety of musical talents.

Celebrities even make frequent musical appearances on their channel!
