The grand winner wins a cash prize and a place in that year’s performances for the Royal Variety Performance—which means they can get the chance to perform in front of the members of the British Royal Family.

During his audition, Bailey sang a song he wrote himself called “Dying Hole.” The song is about a very close friend who turned on him.

As Bailey explains, it was very unexpected because he trusted the person so much. At such a young age, he went through an awful experience.

As he tells the judges, the pain drove him to realize and pursue his passion for music.

When he was about to start performing, his mother was already teary-eyed, knowing what his son went through on his way to achieve his dreams.

As he started singing, the occasional crack in his voice helped show just how deeply he was feeling the song’s emotions.

Every word he enunciated explains his broken trust and hurt.

His raw feelings emanated through the melodies of his song, and the effect was evident in the audience’s eyes—nearly all of them were shining with unshed tears. They were all moved by his heart-warming performance, and everyone gave him a warm round of applause.

All three judges were full of praises for Bailey.

As a result of his remarkable performance, he got three yeses from the judges and proceeded to the next round! In the semi-finals, he sang another of his own songs, but this time about his parents.

His song “Dying Hole” was included on his album Growing Pains.

His album was comprised of four songs: “Growing Pains,” “Dying Hole,” “Memories” and “Dying Love.”

After the album was released, Bailey also opened up about his past battles with depression. That is how he became an ambassador of YoungMinds, a mental health charity. He even later put out a song called “Crystalise,” one that he hopes will inspire people struggling with depression to seek the support they need.

In the end, all ended well for Bailey and the friend he wrote “Dying Hole” about, since they were able t0 talk things through.

The friend also revealed that he knew all along the song was about them. It all made for great TV!
