Lindy Hop was indeed developed as an African American dance, which in part was based on the popular Charleston dance.
It was named after Charles Lindberg’s flight to Paris in 1927, resulting in the dance evolving in the streets of Harlem.
The funny part is that the dance has no “hop” to it.
Such a fun vibe to this dance, just seeing Brandon and Pamela smile and have a great time to it makes you want to at least try this style. Surely there’s a place nearby for lessons!

These two really did have a good time, smiling throughout the dance along to the cheering of their audience.
Perhaps it’s that positive energy that landed them the win.
Everyone can dance, but not everyone can bring so much energy with infectious smiles during a performance.
Forget the bars and the clubs. Look for a dance school and start learning a really cool style like this one.
