When kids get up on stage to perform, you never quite know what you’re going to get.

You might discover that your child has all the enthusiasm but no particular singing talent – which is fine, as they totally get away with it by being cute.

Singing takes a lot of discipline, and those who can sing only tend to hone their skills from teenagehood.

One exception, however, is an incredibly talented little boy who performed John Lennon’s “Imagine” at his school talent show.

10-year-old Adam Kornowski might only be a 4th grader, but he proved he already has what it takes to be a singing sensation with his tear-jerking rendition of the timeless classic.

If you’ve ever attempted to learn the piano, you’ll know that it’s nowhere near as easy as it looks.

But when little Adam sits down at his piano stool and begins to play, he hits every note so perfectly that you’d be fooled into thinking he wasn’t actually playing.

As if a musical instrument talent wasn’t enough, Adam astounded us all once more when he began to sing.

Some kids clearly get all the musical flair!

The video was recorded by Adam’s proud mom, Michelle, at his school in Chisago City, Minn., which has a relatively tiny population of 5,000.

But when Michelle’s video went viral, what started off as a small-town performance unintentionally went global.

In less than 2 weeks, nearly 8 million people had tuned in to listen to Adam’s beautiful take on “Imagine”.

For mom Michelle, the worldwide recognition her son received was a surprise, but Adam was totally worthy of all the praise he received.

In the video’s caption, she did a bit of humble mom bragging, writing:

“Adam had his all school talent show today. He did Imagine. There wasn’t a parent in the room with a dry eye by the end. He got a standing ovation and the applause lasted forever!! A woman stopped me to tell me that she would buy it on iTunes if I put it out there!! I love his bow at the end…so polite!”

If he was our kid, we definitely would have been even braggier than this.

He doesn’t just win people over because he’s cute – Adam can genuinely perform, and he’s a pleasure to watch.

In a second Facebook post, Michelle addressed the overwhelming response her video had received, writing:

“So Adam’s videos have blown up. I started out trying to thank everyone who shared it and respond to all the comments, even if just to say thank you. But alas I can’t keep it up. Please know if you liked, commented or shared it we are very grateful. People have said the most beautiful things and I know he is feeling wonderful about it. I will keep reading the comments and sharing them with Adam. I am in awe of the response. So thank you all!!”

Michelle must be so proud to be the mom of such a gifted kid – and it seems his talent has no boundaries!

While Adam’s rendition of “Imagine” was the video to go viral, Michelle also shared a video of him playing and singing music from Michael Jackson, Journey and Queen. What a guy!

According to USA Today, Adam was encouraged to join the Minnesota Boychoir, but mom Michelle said his true passion was singing and playing the piano together. She said:

“Whenever he walks by the room where the piano is, he’ll sit down and play something. Even if it’s just for 10 minutes. He’ll sit and watch YouTube videos on playing the piano and play something from that. It’s just a great source of joy for him.”
