Little Indiana Feek may have Down Syndrome but this young lady’s always up and about on her toes.
She loves to dance and her condition does not stop her from busting out the ballerina inside.
That last name should be familiar to most of you. Indy is the daughter of Rory and Joey Feek.
This beautiful ballerina continues her mom’s legacy, showing the world that at such a young age, she has the charm and the talent to grace the stage.
Rory met and married his wife in 2002. the Feeks went on to form a country music duo, Joey + Rory.

“The Feeks’ private and personal lives were stacked top to bottom with nothing but joy. The duo was named the Academy of Country Music’s top new vocal duo in 2010, they released much-needed country country music, Joey and her sister-in-law Marcy Gary opened Marcy Jo’s Mealhouse and Bakery down the road from the Feeks’ family farm, Rory wrote hit after hit for other country artists, Joey found out she was pregnant with her first child, The Joey+Rory Show was a hit on RFD-TV, and all was well.”
Until life dealt its cards.
Indiana was only two when her mom, Joey, passed away.
Rory documented each heartbreaking story in his blog, pouring out his emotions.
Life goes on, as they say, and now he has a daughter who will soon blossom in to a woman like mom.
Dad says that as soon as Indy started to walk, she also began twirling.
Like any little girl, Indy was super excited to start her lessons.
Rory captured and documented each significant moment and milestone of course, and he even gives a little update.
“That ballet studio and pretty much everything else was closed due to Co-vid. And although things leveled out here in our area a few months later, we just never went back.”
Rory says,
“But surprisingly this spring, ballet lessons came here instead. A wonderful teacher named Mrs. Chelsea offered to come to our farm and start teaching Indy once a week here on the stage where I do concerts. And so about two weeks ago, Indy had her very first ballet lesson at home. And again, she was so, so, so excited.”
“And of course, her Papa, was there to capture and keep this sweet moment too.”
Indiana’s love for ballet is so strong that she has no trouble keeping up with her teacher on stage. She’s even nailing it with the music!
Mama is so proud of her daughter. She’s up there smiling!
Joey Feek passed at the age of 40, and as heartbreaking as that was for Rory, her legacy lives on in this incredible little ballerina of theirs.
And papa is there with her every step and twirl of the way.
