She’s still got it.

At her age, she can still teach you how to properly hit your drum. And professionally join a band if you want to.

According to her interview with Jimmy, she has three children and two grandchildren. She shared as well that she looks forward to having 1 grandchild that will be a musician like her.

In a separate interview, Dorothea Taylor shared with Drum Magazine that she started playing drums at 13 in her hometown in Michigan.

She got her first set of drums as a junior in high school and joined a band after she graduated, playing five nights a week.

She started teaching drumline for her school’s Feeder Corps when she was 17 and has basically been teaching off and on ever since.

She’s been in polka bands, rock bands, theater groups, church cantatas, symphony orchestras, jazz trios, and accompanies school concerts when an experienced drummer is needed.
