Riding in the backseat of the car is usually enough to make anyone feel dizzy and drowsy at the same time.

Normally, people on a car ride will relax, listen to music or play games on their phone and wait for the trip to be over. In this video, the man in a backseat did an impressive, raw cover of Sam Smith’s “I’m Not the Only One” that was flawless!

That artist was Leroy Sanchez, and he’s proving himself as one of the most underrated talents out there.

Though there’s plenty of talent out there on the radio and on TV, some of the best talents remain to be found. Every now and then, a new performer breaks out via social media—and this video is a great example.

In honor of a very successful tour, Sanchez announces to the camera that he couldn’t help but to sing a song for the fans and supporters. As it turns out, his fans had been requesting the cover from him for some time. Despite his busy schedule, he was able to find time to grant his fans’ request.

Even though the road was bumpy and the car was traveling quickly, Sanchez didn’t let that slow him down.

Despite the distractions around him, Sanchez plays the guitar with total accuracy and a lot of heart.

His voice and guitar playing are great on their own, but they’re even more impressive when you consider the circumstances! In addition to the perfect guitar playing, he also hits all the same high notes and runs that Sam Smith himself does in the recorded version.

He doesn’t need fancy types of equipment to fine-tune his voice—his raw cover with a twist is awesome from start to finish.

Although Sanchez is definitely a talented musician, he still hasn’t seen a ton of mainstream exposure yet.

Even so, he posts plenty of videos on his YouTube channel and has songs available on Spotify and other streaming platforms as well. Although all of his performances are great in their own right, one of the best ones and the first one to propel him to viral fame was a cover he did of Adele’s song “Hello.” Since it was uploaded, it has earned him more than 50 million views alone!

Needless to say, Sanchez is a big talent who is still on the rise all around the world.

Sanchez’s YouTube channel has more than 100 videos available, many of them duets with other talented performers.

Anyone who enjoyed this video should definitely check some of them out—especially his duets with Jessica Sanchez, Alyson Stoner, Mario Dominic and Sofia Reyes. While his recorded songs are all amazing, there’s something really special about the spontaneous feel of this performance. Even though he was on the road with just his voice and a guitar, he found the time to give his fans and supporters a beautiful musical tribute.

Congratulations to Leroy Sanchez on all his musical success! Be sure to watch the full performance in the link below:
