School of Rock premiered in 2003, directed by Richard Linklater.

It starred Jack Black as the main protagonist, along with actors John Cusack, Sarah Silverman and Mike White, along with child stars Miranda Cosgrove, Joey Gaydos, Kevin Clark, Rebecca Brown, Robert Tsai and Caitlin Hale. Although it was a comedy, it was also a story about children’s dreams and about creativity that connected with a wide audience.

Since it was released, it has become something of a cult favorite.

The movie is about a struggling guitarist Dewey Finn, played by Black, who was kicked out of his band.

As a result, he pretends to be a substitute teacher in a middle school to pay off his rent. Dewey is then able to witness and unlock his students’ musical talents. He decides to trick them by forming a band and telling them it’s part of their studies—but the truth is that he created the group to join a battle of the bands.

The kids are all grown up now but they still know how to rock!

Black introduced them again while playing the AC/DC song. Everyone who was introduced played a solo of their musical instrument. Meanwhile, the singers showcased their beautiful voices.

Zack, played by Gydos, still has those magical fingers he used to have to play the lead guitar. Katie, played by Rebecca Brown, was still just as awesome on the bass as well. Even so, the keyboardist and the drummer were just as great as well!
