Though there are plenty of talented people in the world, there’s something particularly powerful about talented children.

It certainly takes some effort to find out what we’re good at and to dedicate ourselves to it, but there are often plenty of other obstacles that stop us from being truly excellent at the things we love.

If we’re disciplined and have time to practice, we can become professionals. Still, sometimes children find their gifts very early and hone in on them—or they find themselves preternaturally gifted at something.

And that’s what makes a show like The Voice Kids so consistently fascinating.

Although the original version of the show started in Holland, it has since become a worldwide phenomenon, with different versions of the same show available in many different countries.

Needless to say, there are plenty of talented kids all over the world—the performance we’re talking about today just happens to have taken place in France.

Like any other version of The Voice, this one begins with a contestant walking onstage before a panel of turned judges.

In this case, the singer is young Manon, who is only 15 years old.

The song she chose to sing was “Writing’s On The Wall” by Sam Smith, one of the most soulful and popular pop artists out there today.

Needless to say, it was a risky song choice. After all, it’s tough to sing and it’s a very beloved balled. Still, Manon was up to the challenge. As the backing music starts playing, she takes a breath and sings the first few notes.

Without even hearing anything else, two of the judges smash their buzzers immediately!

Even though the song choice was a slight risk, it definitely paid off right away.

As she keeps going, her voice only gets smokier and more soulful. Just a moment later, she gets another judge to turn around as well—and she secretly blocks one of the other judges.

The performance keeps growing and growing, even though there’s still a hold-out. Towards the tail-end of the song, Manon hits a note that seems so impossibly high that it makes the last judge buzz in as well!

Unfortunately, she turns around only to see that she’s blocked!

As the song continues, Manon keeps confidently singing her way through and giving the audience goosebumps.

Though it seemed like she’d already hit the top of her vocal range, she proves yet again that she has even more power to spare.

At the very end, she bends her voice and stretches to hit a few more enormous notes that the have the crowd cheering. When it’s finally all over, she takes a bow and everyone gets up to give her a standing ovation!

Although there have been some great performances on the show over the years, this one was incredible!

While the clip was from 2019 and has only been online for a week, it has already earned itself a million views on YouTube.

As this performance shows, there’s no age limit on talent. Although we can work for a long time to master a skill, sometimes people who are younger than us can have it completely mastered at a very early age.
